Benbrook Police receive Can Am Roadster

Benbrook residents may notice a new police patrol vehicle on our roadways. The police department recently received a ‘Can Am Roadster’, a three-wheeled motorcycle with a stability system, traction control, and anti-lock brakes.

Considered safer than a traditional motorcycle, the Can Am is manufactured by Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) for use as a traffic enforcement unit. Benbrook will have the vehicle on loan, at no cost, for one year. During that time, officers will evaluate its performance and effectiveness.

The vehicle was obtained through a dealer loaner program through Granbury Motorsports. Owner Mitch Milson says he is pleased to offer the vehicle as a way to support a local law enforcement agency.

Police Chief James Mills notes that Benbrook is the first agency in the region to utilize the Can Am Roadster. The new vehicle will be used for traffic enforcement in select areas of the city.
