STV – The first year…
Fabulous, impressive, incredible!!! It’s up to you the reader to choose the qualifier that describes the immense journey traveled by STV since the Web site went online on November 13th, 2013. For the superstitious, number 13 has been very lucky, but behind the luck, there were immense efforts to start and make this company grow, gathering the enthusiasm of Spyder riders in the same virtual place.
Pierre Poliquin, founder of STV, joined the world of Spyders in 2011 and quickly became a huge Spyder fan. At the beginning, rather solitary, a man of many solo road trips, Pierre began to expand his Spyder network. He did this through his customed CanAm Spyder, letting the machine do the talking. During a participation in the traditional BRP Owners Event in Durango, Colorado in 2012, during discussions with other Spyder enthusiasts, he realized that besides the traditional forums, nothing really existed to gather the vast international community of Spyder riders, especially for video content. The legend says, it’s on the edge of a cliff, in front of a magnificent landscape of the Colorado Mountains that the vision of STV came to be. There is a void to be filled within the Spyder community, STV is no longer a dream, build it and they will come !!
A PARTNER, A PLAN, A LAUNCH
Claude Leblanc, a shareholder of STV, will join the Spyder community in 2011. He and Pierre had not made yet. Claude was an administrator with a local Spyder Club in the suburbs of Montréal and it’s during a weekend ride that they crossed path for the first time. After a couple of rides and a few conversations, Pierre started helping out as a volunteer at the club and quickly became involved with the administration. Claude and Pierre became friends and took over the club the following year. It was quickly apparent that when working together, they had the energy and the will to make the organization grow. From there, with great teamwork, membership exploded and Club Spyder Laurentides was no longer looking back !!
One thing leading to another, Pierre and Claude, outside the activities of the Spyder Club that they administer, will unite to build a business plan. STV was coming together, things are starting to look very good. Pierre is at the origin of the STV logo, working in close collaboration with Project Image. Pierre takes on the role of building STV, this includes all forms of sponsorships and also generating the video content. Claude will concentrate on entering all the data and setting up the articles and photo albums. He will also be involved with the French  communication, dealing with our European partners.
After hundreds of hours, they have a Web site, a plan, and are ready to go. One small detail, they need video content, Launch is coming !!
