The Can Am Spyder Rally Challenge…a fight against ovarian cancer.

Proud to have been chosen as one (1) of the seven (7) events sponsored by BRP, the challenges were enormous for the Can-Am SpyderRally Challenge organizers. Last year, the same event was a huge success; this year’s goal of surpassinglast year knowing all eyes would be on you was not easy. With the participation of many dealers in the region and dozens of volunteers, the Rally Challenge organizers with Johanne Marcoux as the leader rose to the challenge with flying colors. With over 110 Spyders registered and some 220 people participating, the ingredients were all there to make this event a success.

rallye.d.fi1_The starting point for the participants was at “Riendeau Sports”, proud sponsor of theCan-Am Spyder Rally Challenge since the beginning. Already on arrival, participants were supported by many volunteers on site. One after the other, teams started to go to the many planned stops all day long where challenges were awaiting them. Everything was planned perfectly with safety in mind; captains travelled beautiful roads on the South Shore of Montreal with their team. This years’Can-Am Spyder Rally Challenge theme was the ”Get cracking” slogan used by egg producers in Quebec. The numerous tests and questions participants had to answer continuously reminded themof that theme.

This year, Nathalie Moreau and her twin sister, the actress Sylvie Moreau, were the spokespersons of the Can-AM Spyder Rally Challenge, which raises funds for research against ovarian cancer. This cause matters a lot to them as Nathalie got this form of cancer; she is in remission now. Their generosity and availability throughout the day contributed greatly to the success of this event.

bonneThe day ended at the sugar shack“Le Rossignol” where all participants as well as several BRP representatives were present for dinner and the awarding of prizes. After dinner, organizers crowned Serge Moquin’s team as winner of the RallyChallenge; they finished first with the highest score on the tests. After singing the beautiful song “Une chance qu’ons’a” by Jean-Pierre Ferland, Johanne Marcoux thanked everyone for their participation and it was with a standing ovation that people recognized the tremendous work that Pierre Riendeau, Manon D’Amours, Luc Marcoux and Johanne Riendeau did to organizethe Can-Am SpyderRally Challenge, which was a great success from beginning to end.

As an avid Can-Am SPYDER RT ryder and cancer survivor, I applaud your efforts at charity. I am deeply involved in two organizations and My wife, Marilyn, is also a double mastectomy cancer survivor. Please consider becoming a “Mentor Angel”. I am for two guys and it could not be more rewarding!
